MBI’s Responds To Ipoh Echo’s News Highlights
It is heartening to note that City Council is paying heed to the news highlighted by the Ipoh Echo. Here are some of the responses we received:
- “No Chime, No Time” – IE 86 pg 10. “MBI will conduct maintenance works on December 10“.
- “Hazardous Road Junction” – IE 87 pg 12. “The road junction is located in an area outside of the council’s jurisdiction. We have redirected the complaint to the Perak Water Board for action“.
- “Calling Dirt Vigilantes” – IE 87 pg 17. “MBI has cleaned up the mess on January 5“.
Thank you MBI, Ipohites appreciate your taking action.

tq mbi !
ipohite, pls appreciate mbi’s effort to take action !
Agree with K. Sagadevan about Datuk Bandar being vocal, genuinely responsive and eager to resolve issues.
However, still awaiting MBI’s response to the Polo Ground issue!
It would be truly wonderful if our dear Datuk Bandar would take heed of the unsavoury hawker situation at polo ground and all the sentiments expressed in response to the letter “Ipoh’s polo ground no longer a Perak icon we canbe proud of”, demanding something to be done!
We await the good office of the MBI to resolve this issue once and for all!
I have noticed that as from the time the present Datuk Bandar took over this Post, he has been vocal and demonstrative. This is surly good for Ipoh. And further more the Datuk Bandar is approchable which is very commendable. It is his commitment to the People of Ipoh to see that Ipoh, the city, is the cleanest town in the Country. We support that.
The hazardous road junction has been there for some time and the government departments, around there are aware of it. The Residents Committee of Lim Gardens have notified the MBI of this junction some time last year but only this year the matter has been given atttention by way of MBI forwarding the issue to Lembaga Air Perak. Hopefully, immediate action is taken by LAP to rectify the ‘Hazardous Junction’. In the same note, I would suggest that the Education Department take responsibility to push their fencing wall further in so that the car drivers have a wider vision to see the approcahing cars. The Pengarah of the Education Department should seriously look inot this issue.
Not some knee-jerk reactions to cloud our eyes, I hope.
