Sufficient Water Supply for the State
Residents in Perak have been assured that there will be sufficient water supply for the whole State for at least the next 45 days.
State chairman for Infrastructure, Public Utilities, Energy and Water, Dato’ Ramli Zahari, gave the assurance when Ipoh Echo contacted him following reports that some states in Peninsula Malaysia are experiencing interruption with their daily supply due to the current dry weather which is expected to last till the end of March.
“We do not anticipate any interruption for any area”, said Ramli. “There are 50 water catchment locations in Perak. Of these, 45 are water-treatment plants capable of releasing 1,050 million litres of water per day which is sufficient to sustain uninterrupted water supply even beyond 45 days.”
