Sunway College Ipoh recently held their Convocation Ceremony which saw 108 graduates receiving their certificates.
On hand to present the graduates their certificates was Guest of Honour Puan Sri Datin (Dr.) Susan Cheah together with Sunway University College Director Elizabeth Lee and Director of Sunway College Ipoh Mr. Paul Tan.
Sri Yosephin, an Indonesian, was 1 of 12 students who received her diploma in Graphic Design. She was also the valedictorian of the college. In her valedictory (farewell) speech she described studying at Sunway College Ipoh as being “very nice” where she enjoyed the fresh air and made many good friends.
Among the graduates were 9 students who were Tuition Fee Waiver recipients who also passed with flying colours. The Tuition Fee Waiver programme is part of the Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah scholarship programme which provides a quality education for bright and deserving students.
Sunway College Ipoh is currently one of the leading private colleges in the northern region of Malaysia whose philosophy of learning goes beyond academic boundaries but also enhances the positive attributes of students.
Sunway College was founded in 1987 and was upgraded to Sunway University College in 2004 by the Malaysia Ministry of Education. The college in Ipoh was set up in 2003. On December 16 of last year, its Founder, Chairman and Chancellor, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah received the official letter from Dato’ Seri Mohd Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia, upgrading it to a full-fledged University.
