SMK Raja Perempuan organised a Go Green Students’ Conference for cluster schools as part of its “Towards Green Schools and Green Hostels Programme”. Student leaders from cluster schools around the country presented papers on the concept of Going Green while other students dressed up in fancy costumes to illustrate the topics discussed which included developing green culture in schools and homes, organic farming, recycling and eating green.
The school has an organic garden, which harvests rainwater and uses wastes from the canteen for composting. Students from other schools were taken around the garden and introduced to the concept of organic farming. The science laboratories practise the concept of micro scale science whereby specially ordered miniature apparatus are used for the experiments and only small quantities of ingredients are used for experiments, thus reducing pollution.
The school is implementing a policy of Think Green, Act Green and Eat Green.
