My new friend, Mr. Shan Nair I would like to extend my hands of friendship to you.At first,I was very angry on your comment. Only after reading your second post, I realized that you didn’t do it on purposely to condemn or look down on anybody’s features.
I am very touched when you apologized not only to Mr.Steven Lee but to the entire Chinese community throughout the world.
I being a Chinese man myself am feeling so proud and having great respect on you for being a great gentleman. It makes me happy to know that there are people who are apologetic when something wrong committed by them were highlighted. Nowadays we hardly come across anyone like you. Do not worry my friend, I believe my Chinese community understood and had put the matter to rest.Take care and god bless, Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Shan Nair has expressed his views innocently, least expecting the reaction of some readers. Since he had apologized, the subject should be put to rest. Ipoh Echo you have exercised the voice of freedom and expression, Steven give them some space to breath. We don’t want to read censored views.
yes shan nair…no racist comment. i agree.
its normal…when they comment, they dont say it racist or even thinking bout others feeling. but if it comes to them…they will say u r rude, racist, bla bla bla…
Dear.Mr. Steven Lee, I am extremely sorry for posting such a ‘racist comment’, actually to me I didn’t feel it as racist at all. Please let me explain to you and whoever felt hurt by my statement.
I grew up in a Chinese neighborhood. I studied at a Chinese kindergarten, played with my Chinese friends most of the time. In fact my best friends are the Chinese people.
Coming back to my defense, since I was a kid, I am so used to the words such as Keling Kui, Keling Towsi, Hak yan and the list can just go on and on. On the other hand, I would also call my friends with names such as China Kui, Kan chan, Pak min kai, Tai lan ngong and so on
So HONESTLY when I post my comments it never crossed my mind at all that I would be offending the thoughts and feeling of my other Chinese friends at large. It is only after reading your comment on my posting, I am feeling extremely wrong and ashamed, dejected and if there is any way where I could remove my post from there, I will surely do it with UTMOST respect for my Chinese friends whether known to me or not.
I Shan Nair Sincerely Apologize to all the Chinese community in Malaysia and throughout the world for such a wrong unintentional remark on the beauty pageant title. I honestly would like to thank Mr. Steven Lee for highlighting my extremely stupid and wrong wordS in my past post.
Ngo can hai extremely sorry !!!!!!!! It takes great heart to forgive, in this case I think I know my Chinese friends well, hopefully I am forgiven. KUNG HEE FATT CHOY !!!!!!!!!!!
Shan Nair, yours is a very rude statement. I am shocked that Ipoh Echo saw it fit to allow your racist comment.
The title should have been, ‘ Ipoh’s Most Beautiful Chinese Mata Sepet Tongsan Mom !!!
