Colouring Competition for Kids
Over 70 pre-school and school students from around Ipoh took part in a colouring competition organised by Y’s Men’s Club of Ipoh on Wesak Day, May 5. The competition, held at YMCA Ipoh hall, was divided into three age groups. The pre-school group, however, was over-subscribed. There were four entries from the Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home in Buntong, a home for handicapped children.
Club patron, Datin Jenny Thong, praised the club for organising the annual event for the benefit of school-going children. She later gave away prizes to the winners.
Two upcoming events on the club’s calendar are a blood donation drive on June 9 and a speaker’s forum on June 16. Both programmes are aimed at optimising charity and fellowship which are integral to the society’s objectives.
