Forty students from various schools in Perak were taken on a study tour of interesting landmarks in the state recently. The tour, organised by Yayasan Bina Upaya Darul Ridzuan (YBU), began with a visit to the State Secretariat Building. The students and their teachers were greeted by the Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Zambry Abd Kadir who briefed them on the system of government. They were then taken to the state museum nearby.
In conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2012, the young visitors were given free passes into the Taiping Night Safari. The two-day study tour ended with a demonstration on the making of Sayong pottery in Kuala Kangsar. The idea of taking these students on tour in the state was the brainchild of the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri DiRaja Saripah Zulkifli.
“It’s not only educational but also beneficial for the students, as it helps broaden their knowledge of Perak,” said YBU’s Fauziah Abdul Aziz who accompanied the visitors.
