Forty five orphans from the Budi Mulia Nurul Huda Orphanage, Chemor were treated to a buka puasa dinner at Excelsior Hotel, Ipoh on Thursday, July 24. Present to greet the children were Mayor Dato’ Roshidi Hashim and Council Secretary, Dato’ Hj Abdul Rahim Md Ariff. After a hearty meal the children were given gifts and the customary ‘duit raya’.
Over 2,000 guests consisting of orphans, members of the public and non-governmental organisations were at the Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir’s residence on Wednesday, July 25 for buka puasa. Guests and orphans enjoyed a very sumptuous spread laid specially for them in the dining hall.
Nearly 5,000 people gathered at the Chief Minister’s residence on the evening of Thursday, July 26 to break fast with Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. It was an auspicious moment for the PM as it coincided with his 59th birthday. Among the the guests present were members of the state assembly, senior state civil servants and mosque officials. Datuk Seri Najib presented gifts to the imam of the state mosque.
