Police Officers Promoted
Four senior police officers were promoted to head the various sections within a newly formed department in the Perak Contingent Headquarters, Ipoh. They received their ranks during an informal ceremony held at the contingent headquarters recently.
According to the Perak Police Chief, Dato’ Acryl Abdullah Sani, the promotion exercise was to increase the efficiency of Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah dan Keselamatan Komuniti (Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department) which was established on July 25.
“The creation of this department is to ensure that all criminal cases within the community can be investigated and acted upon in a more systematic manner,” he told reporters. “Staff for the department will be recruited and they’ll attend an orientation course at Bukit Aman before filling up appointments.”
The police chief then slipped on the Superintendent insignias on the shoulders of the four officers witnessed by ACP Sum Chang Keong, the Ipoh Police Chief. The four were Supt Shamsiah Yusoff who will now head the Community Policing Department. Supt Roslan Zauniddin will head the Resources Coordination Centre. Supt Azlan Abu will lead the Data collection and Collation Centre while Supt Mohamed Rafiq Mohamed Mustafa will be in charge of land operations.
