In collaboration with Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club, Impiana Hotel Ipoh hosted a Deepavali charity dinner for 40 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ihsan Kanak-Kanak Arut Perum Jothy. This is part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for the year.
Besides giving back to the community, the event was also to acknowledge these individuals, who are often neglected. “This noble cause fulfills our mission of being a caring and sharing corporation,” said Kamaruddin Kassim, the hotel’s general manager.
Besides feasting on a generous vegetarian buffet spread, the children were each presented with sponsored goodies and schooling essentials including a school bag, that would come handy during next year’s school term.
Guest-of-honour, Dato’ V. Elango, special adviser and special officer on Indian affairs to the Menteri Besar, added cheer to the occasion by announcing an allocation of RM5000 to the home and another RM5000 to Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club.
During the dinner, the press club also presented a cash donation to T. Subramanian, an amputee due to diabetes. He is a reporter with Tamil Nesan and is based in Kampar.
Patron of Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club Dato’ Seri Raja Haji Ahmad Zainuddin was happy that Deepavali was also observed by the hotel, Malaysia being a multi-racial country. He added, “Even members of the press club are from all races, working together harmoniously.
