“Perak, Malaysia – World of Wonders” is Tourism Perak Management Berhad’s first ever book detailing the touristic destinations within the state. It is in the form of a hardcover coffee table book which will be given away as souvenirs for visiting dignitaries and VIPs.
The Executive Councillor for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Multimedia and Communications, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said that the 200-page book was the first of its kind by the state’s tourism agency.
“Perak is blessed with a beautiful natural environment. This is the message we want to convey to readers via this book. For ease of reference, touristic products in Perak are divided into seven clusters namely, Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping, Teluk Intan, Pulau Pangkor, Lenggong and Royal Belum.
“The book begins with the history of developments in Perak, especially in Ipoh. It then elaborates on the arts, culture and food available in each cluster,” she told reporters after the launch of the book during the Car Free Day programme by Ipoh City Council on Sunday, October 18 at Ipoh Padang.
Dato’ Nolee expressed her gratitude to those responsible for preparing the book, especially the editorial team led by Ipoh Echo’s reporter cum photographer, Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali. Rosli was tasked to write the book almost a year ago and had taken his time to assemble his team. His reference was the numerous “Perak Tourism News” published by Ipoh Echo for the state tourism agency.
“It’ll be the pride of Perak and a gift to the world, as we live in a beautiful and harmonious state,” she added.
