In conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which fell in October, Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) held a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at the newly-opened AEON Mall, Klebang (Hall 3) from Wednesday, October 21 to Sunday, October 25.
It was an overwhelming success with over 5000 people visiting the information and medical booths set up in the mall for the 5-day event.
Some of the activities organised were blood donation, seminars and talks on breast cancer, free health screening, children colouring competition, stage performances and lucky draws. The National Cancer Society Malaysia (Perak) set up a special booth where talks on ways to perform self-examination for breast cancer were held.
Dr Pang Ay Minn spoke on ‘Women and Cancer’ to enlighten listeners on the disease. Dietician, Hooi touched on the subject of ‘Healthy Eating for Cancer Prevention’. She told her audience how to enjoy a cancer-free life with proper food. Guest speakers, Huan and Khednniey elaborated on hydrogen water and electromagnetic radiation which were relevant in cancer prevention.
