In conjunction with the 210th Police Day, the Lions Club of Ipoh Host, Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) 5 Ipoh, Blood Bank Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun and Kinta Medical Centre jointly organised a blood donation campaign at the FRU hall in Sungai Senam on Tuesday, April 4.
The objective of the campaign, according to the President of the Lions Club of Ipoh Host, Emily Kong Phooi Lai, was to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation, and with the fasting month fast approaching, there will be blood shortages at hospitals.
Apart from the campaign, the club also paid a visit to Tadika Kemas FRU 5. Educational materials were donated to the kindergarten, and goody bags were distributed to the children.
Due to overwhelming response, the blood donation campaign will be held annually.
