Affordable Houses Up For Grabs
It was double the joy on Monday, February 1 as the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP) launched the upcoming affordable housing, Suria@Meru as well as the property portal, www.rumahkuamanjaya.com.my.
Scheduled for completion in December 2017, the 413-unit Suria@Meru is located at Zone 9 of Bandar Meru Raya. The two-storey terrace houses, with a 1600 to 1670 sq ft built-up area, are priced from RM263,800 to RM273,800. The houses come with four bedrooms and three bathrooms each. Its developer, Cempaka Majujaya Sdn Bhd is a joint-venture company formed by Sunny Reap Development Sdn Bhd and a subsidiary of PKNP, PCB Development Sdn Bhd.
“PKNP is committed to boost the socio-economic scene of Perak by completing 10,000 units of affordable homes by 2018. To date, up to 8000 units has been identified and planned while the remaining 2000 units are awaiting suitable land,” said Dato’ Aminuddin bin Md. Desa, PKNP Group Chief Executive Officer during the launch held at Amanjaya Convention Centre, Meru Raya. The state agency would launch four more affordable housing projects this year located at Pengkalan Raya, Ulu Kinta, Segari and Trong, respectively.
Guest of honour Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said, “The state government also helps the hardcore poor who doesn’t have the capacity to purchase a house at all through the establishment of Yayasan Bina Upaya, which provides them with a home free-of-charge.”
Incidentally, Rumahku Amanjaya portal has been operational for the past eight months promoting Bumiputera-quota property built by private developers and affordable homes by PKNP.
“In the second half of 2015, RM30 million sale was achieved compared with RM9.7 million in the first half, showing an increase of 67 per cent,” Dato’ Aminuddin added.
