Ipohites and foodies, clear your schedule on April 16 to attend the first ever, Ipoh Picnic Day happening at Taman D.R. Seenivasagam!
Get ready to tuck into Malaysian delicacies from restaurants all over Ipoh with the chance to sample the delicious dishes cooked by the one and only, Malaysia international celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail or known to many as Chef Wan where visitors will also get to learn a thing or two about preparing cooked meals from scratch by the man himself.
The event is organised by Generasi Bersatu Malaysia (GBM) together with state Human Resource, Youth and Sports (BS2M), Tourism Perak, People Of Remarkable Talent (PORT) and Kedai Seni. The Chief Empathy Officer of GBM, Izat Izwan Idzian who’s also the Project Manager for the event hopes that this event would unite locals from different ages and also provide youths knowledge about Malaysia and its traditions.
“The family-friendly festival will be packed with a lot of activities. On the entertainment side, one of Ipoh’s famous bands, Bittersweet, will be performing live together with Couple. Aside from that, we will be having a movie session where the film ‘The Journey’ will be aired later at night courtesy of Astroshaw,” said Izat.
Aside from food vendors, there will also be a few stalls selling fashion items and not to forget, food trucks will be available too.
“We currently have over 70 stalls and restaurants such as El Negra Distro and Konda Kondi joining. This is an event no one should miss,” added Izat during the press conference held at PORT recently.
