It is not an everyday scene to see a robot walking in a shopping mall, but on December 9 at the AEON Mall Kinta City, visitors of Ipoh’s first AEON was given a chance to meet Titan the Robot; a 12-year-old robot standing at almost 8ft tall and weighing 350kg.
Organised by I Creative Event Sdn Bhd, the first ever promo tour in Malaysia started first on December 3 at Cheras Leisure Mall in Kuala Lumpur and has been touring the Peninsula and visiting other states such as Johor, Melaka, Perak and Penang. Created by Cyberstein Robots Ltd in 2004, there are currently seven Titans performing around the world.
Claimed to be ‘The Biggest Entertainer’, Titan can sing and also shoot water at its viewers for fun. Over 100 viewers were entertained by its witty performance including the lip-sync of Frank Sinatra’s I Did It My Way.
As Ipoh Echo managed to live-stream the event via our facebook page at www.facebook.com/IpohEcho, where our viewers were awed to see TItan’s movements, our print readers are also encouraged to visit the website to see it in 3D. Not only did Titan manage to grab the attention of kids but it also appeared that adults were entertained by this full-scale robot.
