“Riders App”, an application designed especially for motorcyclists, is the brainchild of Tiga Anak Jati Perak from Apps Bikers. The application was developed by Apps Quest Sdn Bhd on February 18, and made available on the Google Play Store on February 19.
President of Apps Bikers, Azhar Sulaiman, said that “Riders App” is the first of its kind in Asia, and can be purchased by both iOS and Android users.
According to Azhar, “Riders App” can be used as a platform to sell, rent and buy motorcycles. It provides road safety guidelines and allows users to call for help during emergencies.
“With ‘Riders App’, users will be able to obtain help within the shortest time when in crisis.
“Users who wish to advertise motorcycles for sale or for rent can do so by uploading some details and photos of them. The app provides navigation sites such as Google Maps and Waze, and national and international bike week schedules,” said Azhar.
“Riders App” was launched by the Executive Councillor for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Multimedia and Communications, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi on Saturday, April 8 at Masjid Al-Ansar in Meru, Ipoh.
Present at the ceremony was KPerak Inc Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Nazaruddin Mohd Yusof, Director of Perak Road Transport Department, Zawawi Zakaria and Director, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Perak, Mohd Hizaz Mohd Ibrahim.
Over 500 bikers from 18 clubs all over Perak were present at the launch. They had a chance to watch some super bike stunts.
Nolee said that the launch of ‘Riders App’ will show how capable Perak youths are, and further boost the state’s reputation in the international arena. She hoped that the new invention will be the beginning of many other applications to come.
“Times are changing fast and we’re heading towards the digital era. Everything can be done online now. We don’t even have to go to the mall to buy the things we want, we can just buy them with a few simple clicks.
“By inventing applications such as this, youngsters will be able to earn more. I hope young people in Perak will seize the opportunity,” said the executive councillor.
Nolee will officiate the Perak International Bike Week 2017 Volume 1, which will be held from November 3 to 5. The objective of the event is to gather motorcycle enthusiasts in Perak in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2017.
The application can be downloaded from either the Google Play Store or the App Store.
