Meru Valley: EcoVillage Wins International Award
Meru Valley Resort’s new EcoVillage development was recently named the winner of the prestigious Leisure Development Award for Malaysia at the Asia Pacific Property Awards, thus putting Ipoh on the international radar. Held at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok, the awards ceremony saw a coming together of the region’s best in property development and luxury resorts across the Asia Pacific region to compete in a range of coveted awards.
The Leisure Development Award recognises developments in Asia Pacific that are outstanding in terms of project design, location, layout, appearance and finishes, services, safety, security, sustainability, innovation, originality and marketing efforts. Now in its 26th year, the Asia Pacific Property Awards is the industry’s largest, most prestigious and widely recognised awards programme throughout the region, judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts.
Receiving the award at the glitzy ceremony was director of Meru Valley Resort, Christian Bock who said, “We are truly humbled with this recognition, and are more determined now than ever to provide extraordinary service, value and benefits to all our guests at Meru Valley’s EcoVillage. It is a real honour to be recognised internationally and I am immensely proud of our team for all their hard work.”

The latest award adds another feather in the cap for Meru Valley Resort, having achieved five prestigious awards in the past, namely, the Best Golf Development Asia Pacific, 5-star winner of Best Golf Development Malaysia at the CNBC International Property Awards in 2008, the Premier Award by Tourism Malaysia in 2009, 5th Most Memorable Golf Course in Malaysia in 2011 and the Highly Commended Award in Asia Pacific Property Awards in 2014.
