Kumar Awes Ipohites
“Kumarsutra” was a personalised show that brought the audience through a story of struggle and triumph, all delivered in Kumar’s trademark sense of humour.
The lively evening started off with a bang via a Bollywood dance. Kumar made his stunning entrance clad in a multihued all-over-sparkle saree that outshone the bright lights of the stage. From then on, it was a laugh a minute.
His contents had such a seamless flow from start to finish that, like a soul-baring talk with a reunited old friend, one did not want it to end. He also expressed his love for Ipoh food, citing the nasi ganja (various curries with rice) at Yong Suan Coffee Shop as his favourite.
The multi-talented stand-up comedian was quoted as saying, “This show is meant to remind people to celebrate life. Laughter brings people together no matter what race, religion or colour of skin. We all have our paths which involve sadness, happiness, regrets and accomplishments, let me share with you mine. You are never alone.”
During the conclusion that came all too soon, he reminded all, “In life, always be happy. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. If you have a family that loves you, a few good friends, food on your table and a roof over your head, you are richer than you think.”
In the past two decades, Kumar has been entertaining millions as a comedian, TV host, actor, dancer, director and author. He will be touring seven cities in Malaysia – Ipoh, Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru throughout September and October.
“Kumar has always delivered amazing performances and it comes from the passion of art and love for the fans. Now is the right time for Kumar to share his gift to the whole of Malaysia – that gift of connection and laughter,” Rizal, CEO of LOL Events stated.
