At Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH), we offer a complete range of feminine health services that meet the unique needs of women throughout their lives.
For many women, pregnancy and childbirth is a moment filled with excitement and uncertainty but it’s also full of milestones that are worth celebrating. Our goal is to provide you comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care in warm, welcoming and accessible environment. Our two (2) Resident Obstetrician & Gynecologist with a team of nurses with post basic experience ensure that every patient’s care is customized to her individual needs – all in comfortable and convenient setting.
Our well facilitated maternity ward located at the first floor is dedicated to look after both the mother and the new born. It is equipped with 5 first stage rooms, 2 labour rooms, nursery, milk preparation room, breast feeding room, treatment room and other facilities required for the efficient functioning of a maternity ward.
Apart from obstetric and gynecological services, PCSH also offers a Maternity Package of great value for mothers who opt for normal delivery. Ladies who wish to have their health status checked can also sign up for Female Screening Package offered at the Wellness Centre.
Common Obstetric & Gynecological Services Offered in PCSH include:
- Female health screening and vaccination
- Mammogram, Ultrasound of breast, pelvis, etc
- Antenatal screening including Down’s Syndrome
- Obstetric Ultrasound 2D/3D/4D
- Conduct Delivery (vaginal, instrumentation & caesarean section)
- Family planning services (IUCD, Implanon insertion & removal, tubal ligation)
- Gynaecology cases: ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, menstrual disturbances, menopausal problems
- Surgery for ovarian cysts / tumour, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (cone and LLETZ)
- Laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cysts, endometriosis and contraception
- Breastfeeding support
Children’s Health
Addressing the health needs of our patients has always been our prime objective. At PCSH, we welcome and comfort the young patients with a warm and vibrant child-friendly environment. A wide range of common child health related conditions / illness, as well as routine growth and development surveillance screening are available for parents to choose for their kids.
The paediatric ward located at the second floor is newly designed to cater for both the need and comfort of the child and the convenience of parents. It offers excellent care from new borns through to children up to 13 years of age. While offering a warm welcome and a joyous trip to children visiting the ward, we ensure that the ward meets all clinical requirements and needs. The ward has a capacity to accommodate up to 9 patients including 2 high dependency patients. It has sufficient modern equipment and facilities to treat up to 6 new borns at a time.
For mothers with new born babies, lactation & breastfeeding related issues (such as over-supply / low supply of milk, yeast infection, thrush at nipple, mastitis, correct lactating and positioning and hand expression techniques) come handy with the resident paediatrician, Dr Lo Wan-Yi, who is also a certified lactation consultant.
