Foodies who craved for Raya food such as lemang and rendang can now enjoy it all year round thanks to Team Keris Berhad’s (TKB) Rasa Raya open-air market located at Jelapang Sq Commercial Centre.
The market, officially launched on August 25 is one of the company’s Social Corporate Responsibility (CSR) projects where slots for each booth cost only RM1 per month.
“The idea came from our group executive chairman, Dato’ Lee Seng Hee. He loved the idea of helping out those who are doing small businesses. Some places might charge a hefty amount of rent, which can affect these fresh entrepreneurs. Hence why TKB is only charging RM1 a month,” said Anuar Abu Hassan, TKB’s Vice President of Corporate Communication.
With over 250,000 people staying nearby, Jelapang Sq became the location of this market due to its heavy traffic and nearby attractions such as MAPS and more.
“I am beyond happy when I heard about this promotion. Doing this on a part-time basis, I would like to thank TKB for this incredible offer,” said Khairil Nizam, 37, who’s going to sell light Japanese meals at the market.
