NEPHROLOGY SERVICES
Given the special role of our kidneys to our overall health, any disease or damage that affects them can have long-term, serious effects on our health, ranging from severe high blood pressure to kidney failure. Resident Nephrologist at PCSH, Dr Loo Chin Sum, is renowned for providing meticulous care for kidney patients that are both evidence-based and innovative. He offers appropriate advanced treatments for kidney disease, using a personalized approach to medicine.
Common kidney problems being treated here include hypertension, chronic kidney disease and end stage kidney disease/failure. Apart from that, Dr Loo also handles patients with System Lupus Erythematous (SLE). For kidney patients who need to undergo dialysis, PCSH houses a Dialysis Centre with a total of 18 dialysis stations including 1 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 1 each for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C patients. The centre is well supported by a team of experienced staff nurses.
