District Governor of Rotary District 3300, Dr Manohar Kurup visited the Rotary Club of Greentown for the first time since taking office. Dr Manohar Kurup, an accountant by profession, has been an active Rotarian for the past 10 years.
On his visit to Rotary Club of Greentown on October 30, he had a compact itinerary including the launching of an awareness board at Sangeetha Sabah Tamil School, Ipoh. The board is to acknowledge the fact that the Rotary Club of Greentown has been providing educational support in terms of providing needy students with spectacles, food and education. Later in the afternoon, the DG had a meet-up session with the interactors of Tenby International School that falls under the umbrella of the club. He was briefed on projects hosted by the interactors of the school. Campus principal Ms Jane Kwok was also present to lend her support.
Club President Subain Singam later hosted a dinner at Syeun Hotel for Dr Manohar, guests and members of the club. At dinner, a new member, Rotarian Balachandran, was inducted by the District Governor. He later presented a token of appreciation to the sponsors of the spectacles project at Sangeetha Sabah. He also presented certificates to members of the club who have served for more than 20 years. The District Governor, guests and members were also treated to a sensual Malayalee dance performance by Ms Jasmine.
