The launch of KTM 4-WAY TEST Plaque and an award ceremony to honour “rail heroes” was held at the Ipoh Railway Station platform on Saturday, January 20.
This event was the fifth and the last among the five launches and award ceremonies held thus far. The first was conducted on January 13 at four different locations – KL Sentral, Johor Bahru, Butterworth, and Wakaf Baru, Kelantan.
Some 66 KTM Berhad (KTMB) staff from 12 divisions were awarded with the Pride of Workmanship Award presented by Rotary Club.
Those selected were picked based on their work performance and ethics. They were honoured as “rail heroes” and were presented with a certificate and a cash incentive of RM500 each from Rotary Club Malaysia.
This time round, 10 rail heroes were picked from the Permanent Way Gang and Fleet Maintenance and Engineering (FME) Rescue Team. The remaining were electrification personnel, cargo and commuter train drivers, ETS train captains, and counter clerks.
The objective was to encourage professionalism in vocations while enabling Rotary Clubs to work with business owners, corporations and multinationals.
More of such ceremonies will be held in the future.
