Tender Loving Care
The Love and Care Christian Community Service Ipoh visited Kampung Ulu Jelintoh on Saturday, March 31. They were there for a noble reason – to provide assistance to the Orang Asli villagers.
Kampong Ulu Jelintoh is located about 6km from Gopeng. The whole village, amounting to over 300 personnel, turned up for the event.
The society hopes to reach out to the Orang Asli community by organising such programmes.
“We’re glad to interact with the villagers of Kampung Ulu Jelintoh. They’ve been eagerly waiting for our visit,” said Jenny Ding, a committee member.
Ding said that it was not food and financial aid that the villagers sought, but love and tender loving care, especially the children.
According to her, the Orang Asli community needed more assistance from the authorities, especially from the state government. Their dilapidated houses were in dire need of repairs. They find it difficult to manage their lives properly while confronted with these lingering problems.
Ding urged other non-governmental organisations, with similar interests, to lend a hand in resolving health and hygiene issues faced by the community.
