Over seven thousand packets of bubur lambuk (spiced porridge) were distributed for free during a cook-off programme at MBI Square on Tuesday, June 5.
Tan Kar Hing, the Executive Councillor for Tourism, Arts and Culture said that the WOW Bubur Lambuk programme could strengthen relations between various agencies and Ipohites.
Bubur lambuk is among the traditional Malay delicacies which is popularly enjoyed during the month of Ramadan.
“This is the seventh to be organised since 2012. Support from various ethnicities is simply great,” he said.
Besides distributing the porridge, Tan too presented prizes to the winners.
Malaysian Association of Hotels was adjudged overall winner taking home a cash prize of RM1000.
