Choosing a course and institution for the first time can be problematic. However, it need not be daunting, especially when there are people to guide you through the options.
Sunway College Ipoh (SCI) Open Day, which was held recently came in time to allow students to discover what courses were available with the guidance of the lecturers.
Visitors were taken on a tour of the facilities, availed themselves to talks, presentations, hands-on workshop, counselling sessions, lab demonstrations and student activities, just to give them a first-hand experience of being a student at SCI.
Lecturers and students were on hand at every corner, to answer every question, ranging from fees and campus facilities to enrolment and scholarship opportunities.
Sunway College Registry Head, Rani Arumugam said she was pleased as the college continues to be competitive and relevant in the ever-changing education landscape in Ipoh and internationally.
“This open day is a great opportunity for us to provide visitors with a unique, interactive and fun-filled educational experience, as well as encourage them to take up higher education with us,” she said during the open day.
Visitors had the opportunity to check out the scholarships available under the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation.
Among the scholarships offered, according to Rani, were Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship, Jeffrey Cheah Continuing Scholarship, Principal’s Scholarship, Media Scholarship, Continuing Bursary and Special Scholarship.
“Diploma graduates of SCI can pursue their study into Year 2 of any Bachelor Degree Programmes at Sunway University. This is an advantage we offer. Students can save time and money to get their bachelor degrees,” said Rani.
