The wish of 12-year-old Al- Asri Ramli, who suffers from a critical heart disease, came true when he got to set foot in Ipoh’s theme park, Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) with his family.
The dream of Al-Asri was realised by the Children’s Wish Society (CWS) in collaboration with LWOT. CSW is an active NGO that deals with underprivileged kids.
General Manager of LWOT, Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari said that the management has always assisted the underprivileged, especially children with chronic illnesses.
“We took time to entertain these special children. We felt touched seeing their dreams to have fun at LWOT were fulfilled.
“Al-Asri seems so joyful with his family members. They played with the animals at the petting zoo and enjoyed themselves at the water theme park. We provided accommodation for them so that they could enjoy the hot spring at night,” she added.
Al-Asri is a Standard Six student from Sabah. He came with his brothers, Al-Hasir, 9, and Radzman, 4, as well as his mother, Sitti Sarha Julasbi, 32. Al-Asri was diagnosed with a heart ailment known as Complex Cyanotic Heart Disease since he was three months old.
According to his mother, Al-Asri’s disease is incurable as his heart is located on the right side. He’s under doctor’s observation constantly.
“My son has to live like this for life. Unlike any other normal kids, his activities are restricted. He would often experience shortness of breath when he’s tired. I am grateful to the sponsors for granting my son’s wish to have fun at the theme park,” she expressed.
Flight expenses for Al-Asri and his family were paid by the NGO while accommodation and food was provided by Lost World of Tambun.
