Reducing Living Cost
Among the initiatives taken, according to Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azum, were Skim Ladang Harapan (farming scheme) and rebate for water and electricity bills.
“The Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation will expand the membership of the scheme to include registered cooperation rather than just individuals as is practised now. This will benefit more people,” he said.
He was responding to a written question by the Adun for Alor Pongsu, Dato’ Sham Mat Sahat.
On rebate, Faizal said the electricity rebate programme will help pay the monthly electricity bills, amounting to RM40, of those who are registered under e-Kasih.
“The new rate is RM40 as compared to the previous RM20,” he said.
The Perak Water Board now provides 25 cubic metres of free treated water to an estimated 50,700 Perakeans to ease their financial burden.
