Malaysia’s arena of Muay Thai boxing continues to shine on the international stage in Hong Kong’s 2019 East Asian Muay Thai Championships.

Under women’s category, 51kg Nur Amisha, 17, knocked out host boxer Wong CK by 5-0. Nur who won gold this time had also won gold in the 2016 World Muay Thai Championship.

Under men’s category, 48kg Mohammad Rifdean, 17, and 67kg Mohammed Mahmoud, 22, had also defeated the host boxers by the same 5-0. Despite their opponent’s advantage in physical aspects, Rifdean and Mahmoud had no trouble taking them on.

Bernard Radin, Perak Muay Thai head coach was satisfied with his trainees’ performance.

“They’ve done well and showcased their utmost competency in defeating their opponents,” he said. “I will be preparing Rifdean and Mahmoud for the upcoming Youth World Championships. Hopefully, they will be able to perform at their usual best like this time.”
