Ipoh City Council is Champion

Ipoh City Council (MBI) took top spot at the just-concluded 17th Local Council Games 2019. The biennial games held in various venues in Perak beginning Friday, September 27 till Sunday, October 6, saw the participation of all 15 local councils in Perak.
The final event, held at Stadium Perak, Ipoh, on Sunday, October 6 was the soccer final between MBI and Kerian District Council. MBI trounced Kerian District Council 4-0. The match was witnessed by nearly 2000 supporters from both teams.
During the prize-giving ceremony, Ipoh City Council was declared the overall game’s champion. They amassed a total of 24 points winning 12 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze. In second spot was Taiping Municipal Council with 15 points collecting 4 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze. Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council was third with 11 points winning 4 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze.
Prizes were given away by the State Financial Officer, Dato’ Hj Abu Bakar who represented the State Secretary.
The 18th edition in 2021 will be hosted by the Taiping Municipal Council.
