Towkay Ong made a good choice when he pulled Sakura out of Concubine Lane and brought her to the Club. She dresses very elegantly and has a pleasant voice while strumming the Japanese Shamisen. Her name means Cherry Blossom, and so she is known to all as Blossom.
Her background is terrible. Her family in Japan were so poor that they could barely survive. With borrowed money they shipped Sakura to Malaya, where she was to earn money in whatever way she could to feed her family. Very adept at meeting any request of Towkay Ong and other members, she is very popular with them and in return they are very generous. Her monthly remittances to Japan are substantial. Not all Japanese girls in Ipoh are so lucky.
