According to Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government, Public Transport and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Dato’ Mohd Radzi, the initiative is a joint effort with e-commerce platforms Lazada and Shopee and e-wallet payment platform Axiata Digital Ecode Sdn Bhd via Boost app.
“In Lazada and Shopee, traders could advertise and promote their products not only to local markets but also internationally,” the Acting Executive Councillor for Communications and Multimedia stated.
Many interesting incentives are offered by Lazada and Shopee to traders registered in the S.M.A.R.T. Niaga@Perak portal.
Nolee Ashilin mentioned that Lazada offers exemption of listing fees, commission fees and transaction charges for 30 days to new traders under the platform’s Smart Shop Package.
“While for Shopee, on top of commission fees exemption, the ‘Shopee Seller’ digitalisation support package offers vouchers worth RM400, My Ads advertising credits worth RM200 and two-week deliveries free of charge for purchases of at least RM19,” she added.
“Both Lazada and Shopee will create a ‘landing page’ for Perakean traders, especially to those that registered in the S.M.A.R.T. Niaga@Perak portal,” Nolee Ashilin further explained. “Through the Boost app, there are options of cashless or contactless payment for additional purchases.”
