Econsave Supermarket presented 40 packs of groceries for needy media practitioners via Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club on Tuesday, May 12.
Manager of Econsave Bercham, Shah Effendy Rosman hoped that the contribution could lessen the burden of media practitioners especially those whose livelihoods are being affected by the movement control order (MCO).
“Our camaraderie and partnership with the media remain strong as we fight the pandemic together,” he explained.
“The contribution is part of our ongoing CSR programmes to aid those in need. Media practitioners are vital front-liners who are prepared anytime, not just during the pandemic, to disseminate information to the public. The management is thankful for the continuous cooperation,” he stated, representing Econsave North 2 General Manager, Chua Yong Chiang.
President of Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club, Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali expressed his utmost gratitude to Econsave which has formed a close partnership with the media from the beginning.
“Econsave is one of the supermarket chains which is always empathetic towards the underprivileged and less fortunate. This contribution is very meaningful and much-needed especially for those working part-time with no fixed income and those with meagre earnings,” Rosli shared.
