Man Found Dead in a Fire
“We received an emergency call around 10:31am,” a fire brigade correspondent from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department said. “The operation was commanded by Deputy Fire Superintendent Mohd Azman Hussin, assisted by Pekan Baru Volunteer Fire Brigade.
“A room at the upper floor of the terrace house, where the man’s remains were found, was already consumed by fire when the brigade arrived at the scene,” he added. “It took around 15 minutes to put out the fire.”
According to the correspondent, the deceased, identified as 44-year-old Paramanandan Murugayah, was believed to have succumbed to more than 60 percent of burn impact.
“His remains were sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Ipoh for autopsy, while we are still investigating the cause of fire,” he explained.
