Perak emerged as the first state in Malaysia to provide drive-in cinema (Sini-Drive) services at Meru Raya and had its debut screening yesterday on July 17.
According to the Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Sini-Drive provides an opportunity for the public to go out with their families whilst remaining safe and free from COVID-19 infections.
“Drive-in cinemas is an optimised idea in line with the new norm to guarantee visitors’ health and safety,” he told reporters during the launch of Sini-Drive.
“Sini-Drive has the potential to attract more visitors to Perak, especially Meru Raya, besides generating local economy in conjunction with the #TravelPerakLah campaign.”
Executive director of Perak Corporation Berhad, Zainal Iskandar Ismail, said that ticket reservations may be made online on Sini-Drive’s official website.
“The public may choose a ticket rate between RM36, RM40 and RM42, with all including food and beverages,” he mentioned. “Audiences may listen to the cinema’s audio system via their own vehicles at frequency 90.0 MHz, while enjoying watching a movie over the 6 x 18 metre wide digital screen.”
