According to a report from the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia, daily new cases worldwide are still at the 200k point, with around 210,000 cases reported latest today on July 21, despite being a reduction from approximately 230,000 cases yesterday.
Malaysia currently sits at 80th place, with 8,800 overall cases, covering 8,555 recovered cases (97.22 percent), 123 deaths (1.40 percent) and 122 cases being treated (1.38 percent).
Yesterday, the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said in a special media session for the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) that wearing face masks in public premises may be made mandatory by the government following the worrying trend of double digit cases and 13 new clusters.
Meanwhile, the top three countries with the most cases, which are the United States, India and Brazil, recorded an addition of 64,000, 40,000 and 24,000 cases respectively today.
France, Hong Kong and Melbourne, Australia have mandated the wearing of face masks in public due to the sudden surge of COVID-19 infection cases.
