The husband of a renowned local YouTuber was detained by the police recently following allegations of violence.
According to sources, the incident happened at Ipoh Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital around 5.54pm yesterday on July 21, where the suspect was believed to have hit his wife who was visiting a relative in labour, and hurt her using a sickle thereafter.
The dispute between the couple was believed to be due to the YouTuber not mentioning the suspect’s name while she was presented with the ‘2020 Iconic Perakeans Award’ earlier this week.
Ipoh OCPD Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz confirmed his arrest.
“We’re currently investigating the case,” he said. “We believe it’s related to family issues.”
A three-day remand order was granted by the Magistrate Court to the suspect in facilitating investigations under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
Fame and fortune do not necessarily bring about happiness indeed.
