In conjunction with the upcoming 63th National Day, the state government has scheduled a few programmes to enliven the celebration.
According to the State Executive Councillor for Islamic Religious and Information, Mohd Akmal Kamarudin, the theme of the celebration will be ‘Malaysia Prihatin’ (Thoughtful Malaysia), to commemorate the government’s efforts in stopping the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The pandemic has undeniably affected the country and discouraged face-to-face programmes and assemblies, which is usually done with National Day celebrations,” he told reporters on July 23 at the State Broadcasting Department (RTM).
“Nevertheless, the programmes will be held under the new norm and approached both physically and digitally,” Mohd Akmal added.
“From July 16 to September 16 this year, multiple programmes have been planned to make the celebration merrier, such as the ‘Info on Wheels’ (IOW) by the State Information Department, which aims to spread information via mobile unit promotion,” he mentioned.
