Aimed to promote patriotism, Member of Parliament for Ipoh Barat M. Kulasegaran led the distribution of the national flags to the locals in Ipoh Old Town on Saturday, August 22 together with members of the Ipoh Little India Traders Association.
According to the former Human Resources Minister, the present climate incurs nervousness in foreign and new investors leading to unemployment.
“Presently, over 700,000 workers are out of jobs and the unemployment rate has skyrocketed to over 5%. Initiatives are required to address these issues,” he highlighted.
“When we were in government, there were plans to spur up Little India making it a haven for tourism in order to create new businesses and jobs for the locals. We urge the present government to carry on with these ideas for the betterment of the people,” he concluded.
