RM236 Million for 2021 Budget
Some RM236 million will be allocated for the 2021 Budget which was tabled today (August 28) at the Ipoh City Council (MBI) hall via Facebook livestream.
According to the mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, the amount will be divided into four sectors.
“RM144.24 million (61 percent) will be utilised for city services, while RM58.31 million (25 percent) is for improvement of infrastructural facilities,” he said. “The remaining RM18.65 million (eight percent) is for social and public programmes and RM14.8 million (six percent) will be utilised for council affairs management.”
Rumaizi also mentioned that the 2021 Budget is the first to include a deficit budget of RM10 million.
“This amount is to assist Ipohites who are hugely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting economic crisis,” he expressed.
