Some 12 individuals which comprises military, police and firefighting personnel, frontliners during the COVID-19 crisis and a few others who participated in the National Day-themed competitions were awarded for their contributions to the country during a tea ceremony and award presentation at Casuarina Hotel in Meru Raya recently.
HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah presented the awards in forms of mock cheques and commemorative plaques.
Also present to grace the event were HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar and Raja Puan Besar of Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima; and Raja Dihilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain and Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tunku Soraya.
In his speech, Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu conveyed his appreciation for all government departments, agencies, NGOs and the public for enlivening patriotic values during the entire National Month celebration this year.
“I would like to congratulate the award recipients on the public’s behalf,” he expressed. “Their spirit is an exemplary model for the future generation.
“Thank you to everyone who ensured that the Jalur Gemilang is kept waving up high,” Faizal added. “Hopefully, our country wins the fight against COVID-19.”
The tea ceremony was followed by performances dedicated to the award recipients, as well as a segment where Jalur Gemilang flags were waved to the song of the same name.
