Ipoh Music Symposium 2020—Preserving Perak Music Treasures
The state government will be allocating RM50,000 for upgrading works of archives for collection of art materials in Perak.
“We need to look at artworks that are ever-changing according to eras as valuable treasures,” she told reporters in the Malam Pentas Rock Kapak closed concert programme at the Department of Arts and Culture Perak (JKKNP) recently.
“The Ipoh Music Symposium 2020 (IMS2020) programme which highlights independent music opens up space to researchers and rock music lovers for discussion and discourse regarding the glorious era of rock music.
“The Perak State National Archive of Malaysia which was officiated by HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah recently, has proved that our state is ready for restoration of heritage, treasure and history in all sectors,” Nolee Ashilin enthused.
IMS2020 is an annual symposium music programme organised by People of Remarkable Talent (PORT) and Gerakan Seni Ipoh with JKKNP and RTM Perak.
Some segments lined up for the eight-day programme from October 10 to 18 include Ipoh Music Symposium, Rock Kapak Exhibition and Forum, and Malam Pentas Rock Kapak closed concert.
The closed concert features three locally known rock bands, which are May, Bumiputera Rocker (BPR), Kris and special guest Kid Search.
