RM300,000 to Conserve Dato Maharajalela’s Residence 

Some RM300,000 were allocated by the state government for the conservation of Dato Maharajalela’s house located at the Pasir Salak Historical Complex.

State Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin lamented the state of the house which has been left abandoned and dilapidated.

“Conservation works will commence January 2021, although efforts to identify levels of damage around the house will be done by the end of November this year,” she told reporters during her visit to the complex recently.

“The Perak State Museum Board has obtained approval to reserve the land and they’ll be fencing the entire vicinity for security purposes,” Nolee Ashilin added.

Also present during the visit was Kampung Gajah state assemblyperson and State Executive Councillor for Women Development, Family and Community Welfare, Dato’ Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin.

Nolee Ashilin mentioned that the state government has also approved lighting projects of Dato Sagor Circuit, the Pasir Salak Durian Festival and Tambourine Performance.

“Pulau Semarak was identified as yet another potential tourism attraction product and plans are in discussion for the launch of ‘Makan Bawah Rumah’ product,” she noted.
