Warong Rider to Open Up More Job Opportunities in Perak
Some 1,200 job opportunities will be opened via the Warong Rider initiative which was soft-launched just today (October 21) at the Menteri Besar’s office here in the state secretariat building.
Present were Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu himself, State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports, Communication and Multimedia, Khairul Shahril Mohamed and chief executive officer of Digital Perak Corporation Holdings (Digital Perak), Meor Rezal Fitri Meor Redwan, among others.
According to Khairul, the initiative, which is part of the Short-Term Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA), is a joint effort between Digital Perak, Federation of Malay Hawkers and Petty Traders Malaysia (GPPPKMM) and Idea Creative Technology Sdn Bhd (ICTSB), a company specialising in information technology solutions.
Warong Rider offers delivery of food, documents, packages, medicine, kitchen appliances and personal shopper services which will aid small and medium enterprises (SMEs) all around Perak which were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
“Besides that, riders under Warong Rider will enjoy benefits such as a startup kit worth RM250, delivery commissions, monthly allowance of RM1,200, interest-free motorcycle rental and multiple e-wallet services,” Khairul Shahril added.
“We’ll be developing a registration platform for those who wish to register as riders at our Digital Perak portal for ease of access in the future,” Meor Rezal heeded.
“Hopefully, Perak as the pioneering state of the Warong Rider initiative, will benefit the state economy,” Khairul Shahril expressed.
