I lived in Ipoh during the late 50’s and early 60’s. I had some friends who were of Sikh/Chinese parentage who lived in a bungalow just at the entrance into Canning Gardens at that time. They did not wear a turban and if I am not mistaken, one of the boys was called Darshan Singh…not the velodrome Tan Sri.
I have not had any contact with any of them since leaving Ipoh. I do make trips to your lovely City from time to time and when I am there, I do think of them. I am not sure if any of them still live there but there can’t be many Sikhs who married Chinese in Ipoh back then and I am sure someone should know them.
Perhaps you may be familiar with who I am referring to and might be able to assist me in one way or another.
