Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu informed that he’s still the Menteri Besar of Perak, albeit as a ‘caretaker’ of the temporary government as of this moment, until a new appointment takes place in the very near future.
He told reporters so after having an audience with HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Kinta here, evening today (December 4).
“I was able to have an audience with Sultan Nazrin and informed him regarding the state assembly sitting this morning, where I lost majority support.
“As mandated, Sultan Nazrin needs to have an audience with a state assemblyperson who has sufficient majority support to form a government.
“Thus, as of this moment, I’m the MB for the temporary ‘caretaker government’,” Faizal added.
According to latest sources, Sultan Nazrin has agreed to an 11am audience tomorrow (December 5) at Istana Kinta, with political party chiefs representing the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.
They are Nga Kor Ming (Democratic Action Party), Farhash Wafa Salvador (People’s Justice Party) and Asmuni Awi (National Trust Party).
