Members of Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and Malaysian United Indigenous Party (Bersatu) are urged to have an audience with HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah today.
According to Dewan Negara Perak member, Dato’ Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini, Sultan Nazrin needs to be convinced that the candidate presented by United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) possesses majority support from Perak state assembly members.
“Thus, His Highness has requested for an audience with PAS and Bersatu members to verify their stands on the appointment of a new Menteri Besar of Perak,” he told reporters at Istana Kinta here today (December 8).
“The swearing-in ceremony can only happen when Sultan Nazrin is fully confident of the candidate’s legitimacy,” Mohd Annuar added.
According to latest sources, representatives from the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition will be having an audience with Sultan Nazrin at 2pm later today.
