New Menteri Besar Dato’ Saarani Mohamad urged all parties to move forward collectively by making the care for the people a priority agenda.
According to him, the newly assigned responsibility as a Menteri Besar is not for self interest but to ensure that Perak and all its layers of society are governed in a fair manner.
“I also realise how the pandemic has continued to affect the state economy and the people. It is a tough challenge to be faced by the government and it can only be overcome with commitment from all parties including the civil servants at state and federal levels,” he stated.
“Thus, the state administrative line-up must ensure that the state budget which will be tabled soon will not only recover and boost the state economic engine, but is also able to help the affected people rebuild their lives,” he said during a media conference at Dewan Jubli Perak in Kuala Kangsar today (December 10).
Saarani also expressed his appreciation to the former Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu for his service.
“I hope all parties can put their effort and energy towards the welfare of the state and its people,” he added.
