Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad commended Perak state assembly members (ADUNs) for showing high political maturity in the winding up of the 2021 state budget.
He told reporters so at his office in the state secretariat building after the final sitting today (December 18), the first which commenced Wednesday, followed by discussion and proposal for betterments of the budget yesterday.
“I would say that the annual sitting this year was a peaceful one. It’s comforting to see all 59 ADUNs unanimously supporting the state budget proposal.
“Besides that, both government and opposition representatives discussed matters that are meant to pave ways for the peace and harmony of their constituencies, even more so during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which is causing woes to all of Perakeans.
“I thank everyone for heeding the advice of HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, which is to cease politicking and to prioritise citizens’ interest,” Saarani added.
